Lobi Stars maintained their unbeaten run in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a convincing 2-0 win over visiting Abia Warriors in yesterday’s week 4 fixture played at the Lafia Township Stadium.
New signings, Amodu Liman and Danbani Alao scored a goal each in the 15th and 25th minute of the first half to hand Lobi Stars their second home win of the season.
After the losses suffered yesterday by the duo of Bendel Insurance and Sporting Lagos, the ‘Pride of Benue’ who are second on the table are now the only unbeaten side in the current season.
In other week 4 fixtures played on Sunday, Kwara United fought back to draw 1-1 with Enugu Rangers in Ilorin, Katsina United also recovered from Alladoum Kolimba’s own goal in the 4th minute to share the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Heartland in Owerri just as Albert Hilary’s goal in the 30th minute earned Plateau United the maximum points against Sunshine Stars in Jos.

At the Pantami Stadium, Gombe United laboured to a slim 1-0 win over Rivers United. After a barren first half, Ahmed Jimoh broke the deadlock in the 51st minute to hand the ‘Desert Scorpions’ the maximum points.
Elsewhere, Akwa United’s winless run continued after they were forced to a 0-0 draw at home by 3SC, Kano Pillars piped Rivers United 1-0 while the south-western derby between Remo Stars and debutants Sporting FC Lagos ended 2-1 in favour of the former.
