Lobi Stars’ Achigbe buries mother today

The remains of Mrs. Sandra Mesuur Achigbe, who is the mother of Lobi Stars’ Head of ICT, Mr. George Alexander Achigbe, will be buried this morning in her home-town in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.

Mrs. Achigbe, a devout Christian passed away at the age of 58 on February 29 in Makurdi after a brief illness.

The first wake for the deceased held on Tuesday at her residence in Makurdi with the management and players of Lobi Stars led by the Vice-Chairman and CEO, Dominic Iorfa, in attendance.

While condoling with the family, Iorfa who released the club’s 32-seater bus and donated undisclosed sum of money to the Achigbes beseeched God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He said Mrs. Achigbe had impacted positively on the society she lived in by ensuring that her children were well brought up in the fear of God.

Iorfa also prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest as she begins her final journey today.

On his part, Alexander thanked Lobi Stars’ family for sharing in his moment of grief.

He said their words of encouragement have remained a soothing balm as he tries to come to terms with the death of his beloved mother.

“I am bereft of words to appreciate the vice-chairman and CEO, Mr. Dominic Iorfa, as well as players and officials of Lobi Stars for their moral and financial support.

“They have indeed assisted me greatly in dealing with the excruciating pain of the loss of my darling mother.

“I also thank every other person who has stood by our family at this difficult time.

“It has not been easy but I am consoled by my conviction that our mother is already resting in the bosom of the Lord,” said Alex.
