The last administration in Benue State was unnecessarily good at issuing press releases to condemn the attacks and killings of people in the state and the country. Though the former governor, Samuel Ortom, was relentlessly speaking out that did not prevent more massacres.

In this new administration, condemnation of invasions and killings of our people should be treated with actions and not press releases and mere words of mouth, please.

There was a press release on the killing of people in Akpuuna Village in Mbaterem, Ukum LGA of the state, to condemn the act but it should not stop at that. Action should be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice so that others with similar intentions can retrace their steps.

Remember that in your inaugural speech, you said you were already aware of the task ahead of you and you promised to address issues without shifting blame. Honestly, as a leader, followers won’t take any excuse from you after failing to address disturbing issues to achieve the needed development.

Insecurity: Rise up to occasion, PDP governors tell Tinubu

Your Excellency Sir, I wish you well and I believe that you have what it takes to address the insecurity in the state, especially as some of the killings are not coming from the Fulani herdsmen but from your own Tiv people against their fellow Tiv.

May God continually keep and guide you to overcome the challenges, deliver effective leadership, and make us proud for the people of Benue to be happy again.
