Villagers set 7 decomposed kidnappers’ corpses ablaze

Seven decomposed corpses suspected to be those of the kidnappers have been set ablaze by villagers in Ohiore community in Toto LGA of Nasarawa, which borders Achido village in the Abaji Area Council of the FCT.

City & Crime had reported that villagers from Achido in Abaji, on Tuesday, abandoned their farms following the discovery of seven decomposed kidnappers’ corpses at their farms.

A vigilante, who led the villagers to the farm, said the corpses were evacuated and dumped inside a valley before the villagers set it ablaze.

He said the villagers from Achido and neighbouring Ohiore village mobilised to the scene with the support of the vigilantes to evacuate the corpses and set them ablaze.

A farmer, Ishaku Moses, said since he discovered four corpses inside his farm, he was forced to return home due to fear.

He said, “On Tuesday, when I went to the farm and saw the four corpses, I ran back home, not until yesterday, when we mobilised with the people of the neighbouring Achido village to engage vigilantes, who led us to the farm to evacuate the corpses and set them ablaze.”

It would be recalled that the Miyyeti Allah vigilantes and the hunters from Nasarawa State stormed the kidnappers’ den at Achido village in FCT and killed many of them during gun duel.
