Men of the Jigawa State Police Command have arrested four rustlers and recovered six bulls, five sheep and two phones in Kafin Hausa LGA.

In a statement, the assistant spokesman of the command, ASP Abubakar Isah, said, “On 01/10/2023 at about 1600hrs one Yusuf Abdullahi ‘m’ of Kafa village in Kafin Hausa LGA reported at the Kafin Hausa Division that on 30/09/2023 at about 0300hrs thieves trespassed into trespassed into his house and stole two cows.

“On receipt of the report, policemen on patrol and a neighbouring command were detailed.”

The statement reads further: “On 02/10/2023, a call was received from the DPO in Darazo, Bauchi State, that policemen on patrol intercepted a vehicle with three occupants conveying two cows strongly suspected to be stolen based on the description circulated, hence they were arrested.

“The suspects were identified as Amadu Ibrahim ‘m’ aged 30, of Kachakama village, Hadejia LGA, and Ali Usman ‘m’ aged 40, of Itas Gadau LGA, Bauchi State.

“On interrogation, the suspects confessed to having rustled the cows at Ruba village K/Hausa LGA and were arrested on their way to Toro LGA of Bauchi State where they will sell the stolen cows.”

In another development, the police stated that on 03/10/2023 at about 1830hrs information was received from a Good Samaritan at S/Tankarkar Police Station that some persons were seen with a cow strongly suspected to be stolen.

The statement reads in part: “On receipt of the report, the DPO S/Tankarkar Division mobilised a patrol team to the scene, where one Jauro Hussaini ‘m’ aged 32, of Maizuwo village, was arrested with the cow, while the other suspect fled.

“When a search was conducted at the suspect’s house, four bulls, three sheep and two rams were recovered from the house, which are strongly suspected to be stolen. On interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence.”
