The Police in Benue State have arrested six people in connection with the killing of Gboko South Ward Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tersoo Ahu, in Gboko area of the state.

Ahu was killed a fortnight ago after a fight broke out at a hotel in Gboko area of the state.

It was earlier reported that the incident happened during the trainer’s training of adhoc staff expected to carry out the party’s registration/revalidation of membership as directed by its national secretariat.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene, told newsmen in Makurdi yesterday that six persons have been arrested in Gboko in connection with the crime.

Anene also said that the case is still under investigation.

Daily Trust recalled that certain persons allegedly belonging to a faction of the APC in Gboko had stormed the venue of the exercise and demanded to know how  the adhoc staff were selected.

The situation was said to have become chaotic and resulted in a free for all during which the  chairman was killed.
