The police in the FCT launched an investigation into the matter and arrested three suspects.
One of the suspects, identified as Lukman, allegedly sold out the children at N150,000 each.
The two other suspects, who bought the children, re-sold them at N1m.
Speaking to our reporter yesterday, father of one of the recovered children, Sheikh Auwal Maigaskiya, said the police arrested one of the suspects with the children inside a motor park in Abuja while attempting to board a vehicle for a night journey.
“I went to the FCT Police Command along with my wife, the mother of my missing daughter, Bilkisu, and we identified her among the three recovered children.
“Information about the two other recovered children was circulated in mosques in the communities and their parents were among the numerous people that thronged the command to identify their kids, Sadiq and Mustafa,’’ he said.
Reacting, the FCT police spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident, saying investigation into the matter was ongoing.
