Robber sentenced to death in A/Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State High Court has sentenced a 36-year-old man, Destiny Okon, to death for armed robbery.

Okon, an indigene of Ikot Andem Itam in Itu Local Government Area of the state, was found guilty of robbing Ubotex Warehouse in Ifa Ikot Okpon, Uyo, on December 15, 2015.

Justice Archibong Archibong discharged and acquitted two other accused persons, 40-year-old Ikechukwu Eme from Anambra State and 36-year- old Nwaigbo Kelechi from Ebonyi State, of the charges.

The duo, alongside Okon, were charged with three counts of conspiracy, armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms.
