The police in Ekiti State have arraigned a man, Tosin Afolabi, before an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court with the alleged intent to marry a woman, Motunrayo Ajijola, against her will.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the suspect on April 18, in Ado-Ekiti, did intend to have sexual intercourse with the lady against her will contrary to Section 275 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, J. S. Balogun, urged the court to grant him bail.

The Magistrate, A. O. Owoleso, granted a bail of N200,000 and one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to July 23.
