Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has won the gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

This is coming days after she won gold and bagged the world record at the World Athletics Championships in the US.

She clocks a blistering 12.30s to smash the Games’ record on Sunday morning at the Alexander stadium.

Devynne Charlton of The Bahamas came second while England’s Cindy Sember cliched the bronze medal.

Amusan becomes the first World Champion to win a Gold medal in the event and the first Nigerian athlete ever to be crowned champion at all levels of athletics in the same year, after successfully defending the Commonwealth Games title she won four years ago in Gold Coast Australia.

She is now the champion in Africa, World and Commonwealth Games.

Amusan had won the 2018 edition of the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast to become the first Nigerian female hurdler to win gold at the Games. She won the women’s 100m hurdles then in 12.68secs to claim her first Commonwealth Games gold for Nigeria.
