A mob on Sunday descended on a man, simply identified as Yusuf, for allegedly attempting to steal a motorcycle at the Eid ground in Paso community in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
A resident, Ismail Danjuma, said the incident happened after Muslim residents completed observing the Eid prayers.
He said the suspect who also joined the two raka’at prayers stood up and walked straight to some parked motorcycles, took one and attempted to escape.
He said the nemesis caught up with the suspect when the owner sighted him while struggling with the motorcycle and raised the alarm.
A vigilante, Kabiru Saleh, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect was handed over to security agents in the area.
The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, said she was not aware of the incident.
