Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering digitally literate and empowered learners through smart schools.

The commitment, he said, was being realised through collaboration between the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the National Digital Resource Centre of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).

Representing the governor during a working visit by Professor Bashir Galadanci, the National Coordinator of the UBEC centre, to Makurdi, Dr Grace Adagba, Chairperson of SUBEB, highlighted the synergy between UBEC and SUBEB as instrumental in advancing educational initiatives aimed at nurturing a generation of digital literates.

Dr Adagba led Professor Galadanci to visit the UBEC/SUBEB model smart school in the Adaka community of Makurdi while reaffirming the state government’s commitment towards ensuring the sustenance of the school.

Prof Galadanci commended Governor Alia’s administration and teachers in the state for embracing digital resources to enhance learning experiences, stressing the importance of equipping learners with 21st Century skills and knowledge to compete globally, expressing hope for high-quality smart education for all Nigerian children.
