The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved a N836m road reconstruction project from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Damare to Borong community.

The project, which covers the local government areas of Girei and Demsa, was awarded to Hydro Source and Resource Nigeria Limited for completion within 12 months.

Dr Umar Garba Pella, the State Commissioner of Education, said this at a press briefing following the council meeting held at the Government House in Yola on Wednesday.

He said that the project will have a significant impact on the state’s infrastructure, particularly in the transportation sector.

The project was initially awarded at over N578m but the variation was necessary to cover the increased cost of building materials.
