Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Yahaya Balarabe for allegedly murdering his close friend, Usman, in Dage Village, Ganye Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspect pretended to assist the victim on his farm but instead, attacked him with a cutlass, stabbing him in the head and throwing him into a gutter.
The suspect then robbed the victim of his motorcycle and N20,000.
The Command apprehended the suspect on July 17, 2024, following a report from the deceased’s family members and the recovery of some evidence linking him to the crime.

Nguroje explained that the suspect had made a confessional statement, revealing his motive was to possess the victim’s motorcycle and money.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, expressed disappointment over the incident and commended the operatives of Ganye Divisional Police Headquarters for their swift action in arresting the suspect.
The CP has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department to take over the investigation and ensure that justice is served.
