Adamawa Governor to Construct Additional 10-Meter Dual Carriageway, Underpass

Governor Ahamdu Umaru Fintiri has unveiled plans to construct a 10-meter dual carriageway with an underpass from Bekaji roundabout to the airport.

This development is expected to modernize the city’s road infrastructure, following the success of previous projects like the police roundabout and Mubi roundabout flyovers.

Speaking at a congratulatory dinner in his honor, Governor Fintiri revealed that the project will be presented to the state council for approval by the end of July.

He emphasized the importance of infrastructure development in attracting investors and promoting growth.

“If we don’t expand on infrastructure, we are not going to attract investors. If they come to our city driving in potholes and dustbin by the side of the road, who will bring in his money? We have to make the town clean, we have to make the town safe, and we have to develop the state with modern infrastructure,” Governor Fintiri stressed.

The Governor also announced plans to complete the Mubi roundabout flyover, AA Lawal junction, and the 21-kilometer Super Highway with a cloverleaf at FGGC next year.

Additionally, he revealed that his administration has secured grants from UNICEF and the education sector, totaling $45 million and $80 million, respectively.

Fintiri’s administration has also launched the Fintiri Business Wallet, aimed at empowering women and youth with cash grants every three months.

He emphasized the importance of supporting vulnerable individuals and urged citizens to support his vision for the state’s development.

“The Fintiri Business Wallet is meant for the most vulnerable. I warn those saddled with the responsibility of selecting beneficiaries to do justice by ensuring only the right people are selected for the empowerment program,” Governor Fintiri warned.

He acknowledged that all he was able to achieve for the state wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the people and urged citizens to support him, live in peace and unity with one another for the development and progress of the state.

Deputy Governor Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta praised the Governor’s leadership and mentorship, saying, “The Infrastructure award is a morale booster for the Governor to achieve more for the state in the years ahead.”

Speaker of the ADHA, Rt. Hon. Wesley Bathiya, and other officials commended the Governor’s transformative efforts, pledging their support for his remaining years in office.

Governor Fintiri’s announcement solidifies his commitment to infrastructure development, cementing his reputation as a champion of progress in Adamawa State.
