An 80-year-old trader, Ladan Bature, has been reportedly stabbed to death during an argument at the Kara Cattle Market along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.
Police spokesman in the state, Omolola Odutola, said the deceased was stabbed with a knife in front of the Kara market mosque by one Haiye Aginni on Monday.
Odutola noted that despite efforts by residents and traders to rush him to the hospital, Bature succumbed to the injury.
She said operatives of the Ojodu Abiodun Police Division arrested the suspect.

She noted that the corpse was deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital’s morgue in Sagamu for preservation and autopsy.
Odutola said, “Following the report to the Ojodu Abiodun Police Division, detectives swiftly took action and arrested the suspect.
“Bature’s body has been deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital’s morgue in Sagamu for preservation and autopsy.’’
She stated that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
