LASTMA threatens to impound vehicles impeding traffic at filling stations

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has threatened to impound any vehicle impeding free flow of traffic at filling stations in any part of the state.

The General Manager (GM) of LASTMA, Mr Olalekan Bakare-Oki, who gave the warning on Sunday, said additional LASTMA officials would be deployed to monitor traffic around fuel stations across the state.

Bakare-Oki said that the increased deployment became necessary due to reports of long queues at filling stations caused by motorists who parked indiscriminately as they waited to buy fuel.

He said, “The current fuel scarcity is not an excuse to obstruct and disrupt traffic in Lagos.

“We want our roads to be free-flowing; fuel queues should not become a burden for other road users in Lagos.”
