96 suspects arrested as police raid criminal hideouts in FCT

Operatives of the FCT Police Command have arrested 96 suspects, including scavengers, following raids on some criminal hideouts and black spots in the territory.

The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Benneth Igweh, while parading the suspects on Tuesday, said they were arrested in Nyanya, Galadimawa, Kubwa, Kabusa, Lubge, Mabushi, Iddu, Karmo and Byazhin police divisions.

He noted that the raids which were conducted simultaneously on Monday also included Asokoro, Jikoyi and Karshi.

He said exhibits recovered during the raids included cutlasses, knives, pairs of scissors, gas cylinders, solar panels, hammers and identity cards.

He added that the suspects who were being profiled would be charged to court.

CP Igweh, further disclosed that a Peugeot with registration number: BWR 855 AS, which was snatched by some armed hoodlums around Wuse, Zone 3, had been recovered by operatives of Durumi Division after it was abandoned beside Conoil Filling Station, Durumi.

He added that, “And while a search was conducted, the car’s particulars bearing Meshach Osayende of BUH Estate, Kado, were recovered with a phone number.”
