1-month-old baby dumped in FCT community

A woman has dumped her one-month-old baby boy on the banks of the Gurara River in Kuka community in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

A resident, Saidu Ibrahim, explained that a fisherman who went to the river on Saturday to check his nets discovered the baby wrapped with clothes with a N1,000 note in the clothes.

He said, “The fisherman then took the baby the chief’s palace. I think the chief directed that the baby be taken to the social welfare department of Kwali Area Council.”

The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, was yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.
