To ensure safe reopening of schools after COVID-19 restrictions, the Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP), a World Bank funded programme in Yobe, has donated 510 hand washing pedal-operated machines to schools in Yobe State.
Presenting the items, the state project coordinator, Musa Idi Jidawa, said that of the 510 machines donated, 300 were handed over to Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education for onward distribution to schools across the state.

According to him, other complimentary support to the state through the project consisted of the creation of two molecular laboratories for COVID-19 testing in Damaturu and Nguru.
Speaking while receiving the items, Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr Sani Idris, represented by the Director of Schools, Shuaibu Bulama, assured that all items would be distributed to the targeted schools.
