No fewer than 400 small-scale business owners and entrepreneurs have received N250,000 each from the 9th President of the Senate of Nigeria, Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan to expand their businesses.
The N100 million grant to the 400 beneficiaries was distributed by Lawan for his constituents in Yobe North in a bid to build a more vibrant and sustainable local economy in Yobe State.
Lawan said the disbursement across the six local government areas would provide them with the much-needed capital to expand their operations.
According to him, the funding, which is free and not to be repaid, will boost their businesses and contribute to the growth and development of a sustainable local economy in the state.
