A businesswoman, Sikira Deji, on Tuesday, dragged her husband, Okediji, before a customary court in Jikwoyi, Abuja, over abandonment.
The petitioner, who resides in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, told the court that her husband abandoned her and their two children for over four years.

She said, “He secretly travelled to France, abandoning me and the children. I have been the only one catering for them and paying the bills.
“I am not forcing him to come back to me. I want him to take full responsibility for our children.
“I pray the court to grant me divorce, custody of the children and an order compelling him to pay monthly upkeep of the children.”
The respondent, who was not present in court, however, sent a letter consenting to the divorce.
The Judge, Labaran Gusau, adjourned to November 16. (NAN)
