A magistrates’ court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, has ordered the remand of three men over allegedly stabbing and killing one Salman Abdullahi during an argument.
The suspects, Azeez Asake, aka Olongbo; Fatai, aka Stand Well; and one Ola, were charged with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide and belonging to a secret cult.
According to the police First Information Report (FIR), the suspects emerged from a bush and attacked the victim and three others with him on a motorcycle after an argument.
The FIR reads in part: “Olongbo stabbed the deceased with a knife while his gang members macheted him and abandoned him in his pool of blood after he fell.

“Olongbo, through investigation, confessed that himself and other members of his gang, some now at large, deal in buying and selling of Indian hemp and belong to Eiye secret cult confraternity.”
Sergeant Sekunda prosecuted the case while Toyin Onaolapo defended the suspects.
The Magistrate, Adeniyi, ordered the remand of the suspects and adjourned the case to July 23.
