But the two in important speeches were given by the Managing Director of Weststar Mercedes Benz Nigeria, Mr. Plath and the Regional Manager- Busses and Support Africa, Mr. Klein. In his speech Mr. Plath gave the public Weststar’s profile and its objectives in Nigeria. According to Mr. Plath since the establishment of Weststar, approximately over two years, they have been poised not only, sell premium cars to Nigeria but keeping a large amount of focus on after-sale service to Nigerians. He said Weststar intends to stay for a long time. He also mentioned the different workshop they have across the nation. All the workshops cover most part of the country while more are still expected to spring up along with mobile workshops- which will help many Mercedes Benz owners.
Mr. Klein also gave a brief profile of Mercedes Benz Germany. But a greater focus was on the review of the bus from the chassis to the body works and the specification prescribed to the Nigerian market. He also talked about how to use them as an investment. The MB Tourismo was then unveiled by Mr. Klein after taking question from the most operators. Mr. Klein gave the public a tour round the bus and showed them the improvement over previous models.
In time the occasion ended and Weststar assured most bus operators they will look extensively into their plights in the transport industry.
