Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Logistics and Supply and Cordinator South East Geopolitical Zone, John Amadi, has expressed the readiness of the police to ensure hitch-free elections. 

He spoke on Wednesday in Owerri when he visited the Imo State Police Command to assess their readiness for the election.

Amadi told officers and men of the command to adhere strictly to the instructions of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, on their conduct during the elections.

He charged them to exhibit the highest sense of neutrality and professionalism by delivering a quality, civil-oriented and human-right compliant police security service on the day of elections and beyond.

He also enjoined the command to synergize with other sister security agencies in the state for peaceful, credible and acceptable general elections.

Present to receive the DIG were the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Barde; the CP in charge of Imo North for elections duty, Alexander Nengi; the DCP Administration, Ukachi Peter Okpara; DCP Olufemi Haruna in charge of operations, DCP Haruna Sirajo Mohammed in charge of SCIID, the management team and other officers of the command.
