We lost 604 cattle in 2 days in Plateau —Miyetti Allah

State chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Haruna Boro Hussaini, who spoke with Daily Trust in Jos, said: “we lost 38 cattle and two of our members last week Friday around Foron and on the following day, we lost 566 cattle belonging to 10 members of our association around Rangil and Gero. The cattle were taken to Vom in Jos-south Local Government Area.”
Hussaini said they reported the incident to the Special Task Force (STF) Commander, Major General Daniel Eniete, who promised to do everything within his powers to recover the stolen cattle.
“Usually, the rustlers are heavily armed and on several occasions, they kill our herdsmen and some of the cattle, but this time around, the cattle rearers were able to escape,” he said.
He urged journalists in the state to be fair in their reportage, adding: “when our cattle are stolen and we are killed, journalists in Plateau State do not report it. They get their stories from those who attack us and they do not approach us to get our own side of the story.”
The STF Media and Information Officer, Captain Salisu Mustapha, confirmed that the association reported the incident, adding that task force was exploring various options to recover the cattle.
