Umahi told to stop ‘harassing’ rural women over tax

The Ebonyi State Chairman of the youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mazi Alex, has told Governor David Umahi to reverse his new tax policy in rural areas of the state and stop tax officers from troubling rural women over tax.
Alex said in an interview with Daily Trust in Abakaliki yesterday, “Our state governor should stop these thugs parading themselves as state revenue collectors from harassing those poor women trading in rural markets.”
He said however that he appreciated how Umahi was executing development projects, including ongoing three flyovers in the capital city, and urged the governor to create jobs for youths to discourage cultism and vices that youths tend to indulge in.
