Top Club moves to revive horse racing in Kano

A Kano based horse racing club to ensure the revival of horse racing in the state.

A Kano based horse racing club, the Kano Top club has revealed that it is currently working round the clock to ensure the revival of horse racing in the state.

This was disclosed by a member of the board of trustees of the club, Alhaji Abba Kaloma Ali during a press briefing in Kano.

According to him, after inauguration of the new Board of Trustees, under the leadership of Tajuddeen Aminu Dantata, it was decided that allowing the game of horse racing to die will no doubt have significant socio-economic implications.

According to him, the management of Kano Top Club had noticed huge the participation of the youths in the game of horse racing.

He, therefore, reiterated that the sport must be revived and sustained for positive and socio-economic growth of youths in the state.

He added that what the club is currently doing is to ensure there is synergy between the emerging sister national body of horse racing and the already existing body.

“Currently, what we are working on is to have a solidified national body that will sit down and design a one single tournament timetable that will guide the conduct of horse racing in the country.

“We are going to have that meeting soon and the outcome of the meeting will be communicated to the public. What is important here is that horse racing will return to kano very soon,” he said.

Horse racing which was once a popular sport in Kano state is said to be in comatose and needs more commitment to be reinvigorated.
