Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II’s husband, has died at the age of 99.
His death was announced in a statement issued by the palace which expressed the Queen’s “deep sorrow”.

The Duke of Edinburgh, who is the longest-serving royal consort in British history, was at the Queen’s side for more than her six decades of reign.
Many world leaders, organizations have since taken to social media to send kind words to the Queen and the royal family.
