The group under the aegis of Plateau Rescue Movement said it organised the fundraiser in order to harness resources and help the party to win the elections in the state not only in the governorship elections but at all levels.
Speaking at the occasion, former deputy governor, Mrs Pauline Tallen said the APC is doing well in the state and will defeat the PDP in the elections because it has not performed to get another term.
Tallen who is also a former minister, recently defected with other prominent politicians to the APC at the presidential rally of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.
While speaking, Nasarawa State APC deputy governorship candidate, Sillas Agara said Governor Al-Makura has survived nine impeachment plots pointing out that out of the 24-member state assembly, only four are of APC.
“What we’ve done, we’re going to win the election 100 percent. We believe Plateau can do that,” he said.
In his remarks, Senator Olorunimbe Mamora said Plateau needs a dogged fighter like Lalong to confront the challenge posed by the ruling party in the state.
He lamented the level of impunity in Nigeria saying no country can progress in this manner.
In his reaction, the APC gubernatorial candidate, Barrister Lalong, said his desire is to bring justice and unity to the state as the people have been divided by years of PDP misrule and divide and rule tactics.
Former VP Atiku Abubakar, Senate Minority Leader George Akume, Governors Rotimi Amaechi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Tanko Al-Makura and Senator Bola Tinubu sent representatives.
