A former Attorney-General of the Federation, Kanu Agabi, yesterday canvassed for the establishment of a commission that would work towards welding the fragmented parts of the country together.

He was the keynote speaker at the 32nd convocation lecture at the University of Calabar where he spoke on the topic “One Nation, One Destiny: The Way Forward.”

He said: “We now need a body called national integration commission to help galvanise the unity of the various peoples of this country. This body should be established.  The presidential system invests all powers in the president, governors making him and them to be dictatorial. But it was intended for the president to wield such power to weld the country together. I look forward to the day a man from Kano State will become the governor of Cross River State, and a man or woman from Cross River governing Sokoto State. I look forward to that day when an Igbo or Ibibio man would be offered employment without bothering to know his nativity. We need unity for Nigeria to progress.  Nigerians should esteem their country.”

VERIFIED: It is now possible to live in Nigeria and earn salary in US Dollars with premium domains, you can earn as much as $12,000 (₦18 Million).
