A Nigerian agribusiness company, Corporate Farmers International (CFI), in partnership with the Lagos and Kebbi State governments, as well as the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), has launched three products and services to boost the agricultural sector in Nigeria.
The newly launched agricultural products and services are a digital agricultural e-learning academy, agric comic book for Lagos school children and teenagers, as well as an agricultural extension service for farmers throughout the country.

Addressing journalists during the launch of the products in Lagos, the cofounder of the CFI, Akin Alabi, said the products and services were launched to further change the narrative of Nigeria’s agricultural sector by closing the major gaps within the sector.
Explaining further, he said, “The e-learning academy is a 100 per cent digital course and certification on five different agricultural value chains designed to close the gap in agric education through digitisation. The Eko School Agric comic book is designed to educate the youth on agriculture with a focus on the Imota rice mill and other rice producing states in the country. There are plans to change the series every term and eventually make it a national project. On the other hand, the farm support service is established to add value to Nigeria’s extension service sector by providing a weekly digital service for farmers and agro-starters.”
In his contribution, the permanent secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture, Hakeem Adeniji said, “Technology-driven sectors do well; it is time to incorporate technology to the agric sector.’’
