Abdulrahman Abdullahi, an elder brother of the deceased, narrated how the incident occurred: “Initially, a member of the gang snatched a phone from a young boy in the area, and Aminurecognised the person who snatched the phone.

“He eventually collected the phone from the gang member and returned it to the owner, a development that the other members of the group were not happy with.

“Hours before the incident, the members of the gang had threatened to kill him for his action against their colleague. Realizing their intentions, he immediately reported the case to a nearby vigilante office to take necessary action.

“After reporting the case, while he was returning to his shop, the gang members ganged up and stabbed him in the neck and chest. Fortunately, he was able to hold on to one of them until members of the vigilante arrived and arrested him.

“But before any medical attention could be given to him, he had given up,” Abdulrahman said.

The parents of the deceased, Malam Abdullahi and Hannatu Suleiman, called on the security agencies to investigate those involved in the killing and bring them to justice, to serve as a deterrent to others.
