Some sacked teachers in Sokoto State have appealed to Governor Aminu Tambuwal to prevail on the Teaching Service Board to reinstate them.
The board had last December terminated the appointments of 17 teachers over non- performance.
“We have assessment teams that go round to ascertain staff’s performances, dedications and efficiency among other measures but these people scored below the requisite marks. In fact, they were found wanting in all ramification”, the Board’s Secretary, Alhaji Hassan Maccido, said.
However, the affected teachers have pleaded to be reconsidered, saying: “Some of us have put in our best for over a decade in the service as classroom teachers and are still willing to serve diligently.” They appealed to the board rescind the decision.
“We humbly appeal to Governor Aminu Tambuwal to help intervene. We know him as a leader with listening ears. We are pleading to the board to tamper justice with mercy in whatsoever ways we might have wrong”.
