Kano State Police Command has created a Complaint Response Unit (CRU) for members of the public to lodge complaints against erring police officers in the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the decision was in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to all police commands and formations for ensuring effective complaint management, accountability and efficient service delivery.
He said, “The Kano State Command provides contacts for seamless lodging of complaints against the conduct of police officers in dealing with the members of the public.
“The Command’s Complaint Response Unit (CRU) is established to provide a platform for members of the public to report complaints and grievances against police officers to ensure accountability, transparency, and professionalism within the force.’’
