Police arrest man with fake Navy ID card in Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has arrested one Agugu Joshua, 29, of High Court Gizza Plaza, Keffi LGA of Nasarawa State with a fake naval Identify Card.

A statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the arrest in Damaturu.

He said Agugu was found in possession of a fake Nigerian Navy staff ID card, which he used to scam unsuspecting victims, particularly POS vendors and provision stores’ owners.

According to him, the suspect’s modus operandi involved generating fake receipts on his Kuda bank app, and making it seem like transactions were successful, even when they weren’t.

He added that “To gain his victims’ trust, Agugu would initially make a small, successful transaction. He would then use the app to edit the receipt, delaying the alert to the recipient. This clever tactic allowed him to deceive his victims and get away with their money or goods.”
