He gave the names of the arrested suspects as Nura Halilu, Salim Mohammed, Saifullahi Usman and Usman Mohammed.

According to him, investigations revealed that the hideout belonged to their gang leader, who is currently at large, adding that the hideout also served as a hub for drug dealing, stolen phones, and other crimes.

He said exhibits recovered during the raid included a locally made gun, cartridges, four knives and a large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

He said, “One of the suspects, Ismail Tasiu, also known as Old School has confessed to have been operating in the area for over 10 years. While another suspect, Nura Halilu, admitted to be part of an armed robbery and drug syndicate led by a fugitive named Murtala.’’

The police commissioner said all the suspects were currently in custody and would face prosecution.
