Police intercept suicide bombers near UniMaid

Police in Borno State yesterday said joint security operatives intercepted two suicide bombers behind the fence of the University of MaiduguriThursday night. 

Spokesman of the command, DSP Victor Isuku, in a statement in Maiduguri, said the bombers could not reach their destination before they were intercepted. 

 “Yesterday at about 9:50pm two male suicide bombers were sighted and intercepted behind the University of Maiduguri by joint security operatives deployed to the university. One of the suicide bombers was shot dead while the second hurriedly detonated the IED strapped to his body, killing himself to avoid being captured alive,” he said.
