The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested 5 suspected vandals, drug dealers, and thieves in the state.

The command’s Public Relations Officer DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam said the police recovered a dane gun, Knife, gun powder, charms, vandalised cable wire, Illicit drugs, food items, among others.

“On 01/01/2024 at about 1400hrs, a patrol team attached to Roni Police Station while on township patrol arrested one Abbas Musa ‘m’ 25yrs, and Ibrahim Hassan ‘m’ 22yrs all of Roni LGA, in possession of cable wires strongly suspected to be stolen.

“On interrogation, the suspects confessed to having vandalised the cable wires at the residence of Chairman, Roni Local Government Area.

“On 02/01/2024 at about 0600hrs, one Abubakar Abdussalam ‘m’ of Dansure village Roni LGA reported at Roni Police Station that on the same date at about 0200hrs, unscrupulous elements broke his provision store located at Dansure village and made away with some food items and other valuable properties,” the PPRO said.

He added that on receipt of the report, police detectives swung into action where one Kamaluddeen Lawan ‘m’ 22yrs of Dansure village Roni LGA was  nabbed in possession of these items;  fifty-one (51) pairs of shoes, twenty-one (21) cartons of chewing gum, thirty-five (35) tablets of washing soap, thirteen (13) bottles of pomade, nine (9) pieces of spaghetti, twenty (20) pieces of macaroni, nineteen (19) pieces of indomie, fourteen (14) pieces of peak milk.

“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to having broken into the complainant’s shop and stolen the aforementioned items which were identified by the complainant,” he said.
