Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested two suspects, Sunday Uchenna and Osagie Francis over alleged illegal possession of firearms and impersonation.

The command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, explained that Francis was arrested by the anti-kidnapping and cybercrime unit while on township patrol on Irrua-Ekpoma Road and taken to his house for a search during which arms and ammunition were recovered.

Chidi listed the items recovered from the suspect to include three locally-made single-barrel guns, one locally-made pistol, one Dane gun, six cartridges and one military camouflage uniform.

Chidi said Uchenna was arrested while parading himself as a member of the Edo State Security Network with its identity card while extorting money from land developers, adding that the suspect made a statement and confessed to being a member of the Aiye secret cult.
