Kano Pillars knocked Enugu Rangers out of the President Federation Cup on penalties in the round of 64 at the Bwari Township Stadium, Abuja, on Thursday to avenge the 2018 final loss.
Pillars started the game brightly as Mustapha Umar opened the scoring in the 2nd minute of the game but Okorie Chidozie equalised in the 39th minute as the game ended 1-1 in regulation time.
With no winner, the lottery of penalties was required to decide the team to progress to the Round of 32. In the ensuing penalties, Pillars triumphed 6-5 to book a spot in the next round.
In some of the other round of 64 matches played, Plateau United were given a walkover as Ekiti United failed to show up.

Similarly, Enyimba defeated Warinje FC 7-6 on penalties after the regulation time ended 1-1 while Niger Tornadoes defeated its feeder team, Niger Tornadoes Feeders 3-1 to progress to the next round.
