The Nigeria Union of Pensioners has pleaded that special provisions be made for prompt payment of monthly pensions by the federal and state governments.
The union made the call in a statement on Sunday by its national president, Dr Abel Afolayan.
He said pensioners and senior citizens should be considered for special palliative measures.
According to him, the monthly pension of its members is too meagre to sustain living under the present unbearable hardship COVID-19 imposed on the economy.
