NSCDC arrests motorcyclist over death of pedestrian in Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa has arrested a motorcyclist, Liman Zaidu, who allegedly hit a 65-year-old man to death while crossing the road.
The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr Muhammad Gidado, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Monday that the incident occurred on Sept. 11 around 3 p.m. near old Magistrates’ Court, Kiyawa town.
Gidado said that the victim, Malam Musa Maigoro, a resident of Tsangaya village, died few minutes after he was taken to the hospital following injuries he sustained from the incident.
The commandant said that an eye witness said that the motorcyclist was on top speed and could not control himself when he ran into the deceased.
According to him, the suspect who is a farmer, would soon be charged to court after he might have recuperated from the injuries he also sustained from the crash. (NAN)
