Force Commander of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) of the Nigerian Army, Major General Kevin Aligbe, has vowed to eradicate the activities of kidnappers and armed robbery within the nine Idoma speaking local government areas of Benue State.

Our correspondent reports that there had been heightened kidnappings and armed robbery attacks in recent times along the Otukpo-Enugu Road.

Aligbe assured the paramount ruler of the Idoma nation, Och’idoma, Agaba-Idu John Elaigwu Odogbo, at his temporary palace in Otukpo, that such nefarious activities would soon become a thing of the past.

The army chief, who paid a courtesy visit to the Idoma king alongside his management team yesterday, vowed that criminal elements anywhere in the Idoma areas would be exterminated.

He assured the Ochi’Idoma that kidnappers and armed robbers would be denied space to operate, adding that there are ongoing military operations along the Otukpo-Enugu highway to stem the tide of crimes on that corridor.

Earlier, the royal father commended the joint force OPWS led by Aligbe for the visit which was also intended to congratulate him on his emergence and coronation as the 5th Ochi’Idoma.
