Niger gov appoints 26 new advisers

 

The Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the appointment of 26 more Special Advisers (SAs).

Those include the Chief Press Secretary to the former governor, Mary Noel Berje, as SA on Women and Affirmative Action; and former Special Assistant to Abubakar Sani Bello on Political Matters, Alhaji Mohammed Nma Kolo, on the same position.

Others are Mohammed Bello Mariga (legislative matters), Barr Manko Bagudu (legal matters and government house counsel), Alhaji Mohammed Nda (economic matters), Isah Audu (public service matters) and Adams Mohammed Erena (labour matters).

Furthermore are a former SUBEB Chairman, Dr Isah Adamu (governance and reform), Abdulmalik Usman Dakachi (traditional institutions), Kabiru Abbas (project monitoring and evaluation), Umar Sanda Abubakar (policy and strategy), Yusuf Kolo (heinous crimes and substance abuse), Alkassim Abdulkhadir (inter-governmental and development partners), Hauwa Bako Mohammed (social investment programme), Ndajiya Abdullahi Nma (solid minerals and Bida Basin) and Habila Daniel (ecological matters), among others.

The appointments brought the number of SAs to the governor to 30.

In a statement by his spokesman, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor congratulated the appointees, saying that their appointments were based on their track records.
