Nasfat Agency For Zakat and Sadaqat (NAZAS) has disbursed another set of materials worth N10.3m to coincide with Maulud Nabiyu celebration which is the birthday of Prophet Muhammad.

The disbursement, held at the Utako Masjid of NASFAT -which means The Nasrul-lahi-l-Fati Society- in Abuja, made the it second this year after a recent one in July when about N11m worth of cash and materials were distributed.

While giving out the materials to the 82 beneficiaries in Abuja, the Chairman of the agency, Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola, reiterated the need for wealthy Muslims in the society to pay their Zakat for the benefits of the needy.

According to him, NAZAS, within the short period of its existence in Abuja Zone, has distributed about N24m to the needy through empowerment, medical assistance and educational support since February 2019.

He promised that the agency will continue to live up to its responsibilities by collecting Zakat and Sadaqat from the wealthy and disbursing same accordingly in line with the guidelines of NAZAS.

On his part, the Regional Editor of the Nation Newspaper, Alhaji Yusuf Ali, who is also a council member of the agency, enjoined the beneficiaries to avoid wastes in the application of what they received and instead make judicious use of their benefits so that they too could become one of the Zakat payers later in line with the promise of Allah as contained in the glorious Qur’an.

Also, a member of the Technical Committee of the council, Dr. Lami Salau, who read out the list of materials, cash and benefits that are due to each beneficiary, also listed Industrial Machines, deep freezer, mixer, oven, tricycle, computers, cameras, generators, barbing/saloon equipment and grinding machines among others.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation, promising judicious use of the cash, the material and also prayed for the donors and NAZAS agency.
