Nasarawa state Deputy Governor, Silas Ali Agara, has debunked the media report that he has secretly obtained a nomination form to contest for the House of Representatives’ seat for Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon federal constituency ahead of the 2019 general elections in the state.
In a statement emailed to Daily Trust and signed by the Director General of Agara Campaign Organization, Hon. Musa Yusuf Omaki, it said “We received with rude shock how fake and ridiculous people can get in order to score cheap political point through undue blackmail.
“The attention of Silas Ali Agara’s Campaign Organization has been drawn to a publication on Nasarawa Mirror, an online news platform alleging that our principal and frontline governorship aspirant under the platform of APC has secretly obtained a nomination form to contest for the House of Representatives’ seat for Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon federal constituency.
“This according to the manufacturers of the unfounded and baseless allegations is to serve as an alternative fallback should Agara lose the September 29th governorship primaries in the state.
“We wish to refute this fake insinuation in its entirety as a baseless lie concocted from the figment of the writer’s imagination.
“It is however laughable to think that the deputy governor who is currently leading ten other aspirants in popularity and acceptability by the electorates in Nasarawa state will sneak into Abuja to obtain a Reps forms under which guise?
“We therefore wish to appeal to the general public and indeed supporters of Hon. Agara’s ‘we believe project 2019’ to disregard this baseless information as it is a cheap blackmail by those already threatened by the soaring popularity of our incoming governor by the grace of God.”
