New dates for the National Principals Cup in 2022 have been announced by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
The state finals will now take place between November 24 and November 26, 2022, following extensive negotiations on new potential dates that won’t jeopardize school calendars.
The national final is slated for January 18–22, 2023, while the zonal finals will take place between December 11–15, 2022.
The task of organizing the state finals falls to the Nigerian School Sports Federation, following which the baton will be passed to the zonal coordinators for the execution of the zonal finals.
The competition will then move on to the national finals, which will be held in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

It is key to develop talents and the reinjection of life into the National Principals’ Cup, which is in its second successive year, is important”.
Minister for Youth and Sports development, Sunday Dare, is said to be committed to reinstating the National Principals’ Cup and his administration is set to host another edition of the championship that has produced international heroes for Nigeria.
