There was pandemonium at the popular Mile 3 Diobu area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday when a Sienna bus with four suspected fleeing armed robbers crashed into traders who displayed their goods.
A trader, who simply identified herself as Rachael, told our reporter that they were in the market when they saw the Sienna with four occupants brandishing guns with their heads out of the windows on Bishop Okoye Street while being chased by the police.

She added that some persons sustained injuries as the bus destroyed goods.
Another trader who told our reporter that the gunmen were intercepted and arrested on the Abuja-Olu-Obasanjo Road, said, “This morning as we displayed our wares for the day we saw a Sienna speeding towards our direction. We later discovered that the vehicle had armed robbers that were being chased by the police. The vehicle rammed into some traders that had displayed their wares on the road, injuring many of them. Some goods were destroyed in the process.”
The spokesperson of the police in the state, SP Grace Iringe, who confirmed the incident, said the fleeing armed robbers were apprehended by detectives attached to the Olu-Obasanjo Police Division, explaining that three were arrested while one of them escaped.
