LiveBlc, comprising Shadrack Akao and Ernest Ogbanefe, emerged the overall winner at the finals of the MarkHack (hackathon) after beating nine other finalists 10 to win a star prize of $10,000.

The winning innovation is a new platform for content creators to market and deliver their contents.

Other winners at the MarkHack 1.0, organised by the Eko Innovation Centre and GDM Group include, Sprayme clinching a $4,000 prize, Reelbuzz with a $3,000 prize, Innovatoras with a $2,000 prize, and Monify Cookies, in the fifth position with a $1,000 prize.

While these five groups will get working spaces at the Eko Innovation Centre, all the 10 finalists will have access to join the EIC accelerator programme and GITEX Global Pitch Event in Dubai.

Founder of the Eko Innovation Centre and Curator MarkHack, Victor Afolabi said the event brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, among others to create solutions to real-life marketing challenges in an intense period of time.

Special Adviser, Innovation and Technology to the Governor of Lagos State, Tubosun Alake, said the government has been supporting various research works through Lagos State Science Research and Innovation Council (LASRIC) across multiple industries and that it won’t rest on its oars in actualizing the smart city agenda of the present administration.
